A New Partnership for a Greener Future – City of Penjwen for Learning

Penjwen November 8, 2025 In a new step towards sustainable education and environmental protection, the City of Penjwen for Learning Program launched an expanded partnership with the Kurdish-American Community Education Foundation (KAFS), as part of a special initiative aimed at enhancing agricultural education and environmental literacy from home to school, fully aligned with the vision of the City of Penjwen for Learning. This initiative emphasizes the importance of environmental education and instilling a sense of responsibility towards nature in future generations, implementing it in a scientific and structured approach that respects sustainability and life preservation, and serves as a bridge connecting learning to students daily experiences and community engagement, in line with the objectives of the City of Penjwen for Learning. The City of Penjwen for Learning Program, with its full support, provides an ideal platform for this voluntary initiative to implement best practices in environmental education, making it a living example of the City of Penjwen for Learnings goals in practical and community-based learning. At the conclusion of the official meeting, both parties confirmed that the environmental education project, through cooperation and partnership, will move from planning to actual implementation, becoming a practical model that reflects the philosophy of the City of Penjwen for Learning in integrating learning with real-world community life.

The Penjwen Learning City Program Welcomes an Official Delegation from the Iraqi Federal Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research

With the participation of the District Governor of Penjwen, the Director of Penjwen Education, and a number of supervisors, officials, and volunteers of the Penjwen Learning City Program, an official delegation from the Iraqi Federal Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research was warmly received. The delegation was composed of Dr. Ali Kamel, representing the Department of Cultural Relations, Dr. Adnan Mohammed, and Dr. Zainab Salam. During a consultative meeting held with the programs team and volunteers, key activities and initiatives implemented within the programs framework were discussed, highlighting their significant role in strengthening education and promoting community development in Penjwen District. At the conclusion of the visit, the delegation expressed deep appreciation and gratitude for the continuous efforts made by the programs leadership, commending the notable achievements that have contributed to the advancement of education and human development in the district. The ministrys delegation also emphasized the importance of expanding and generalizing the Penjwen Learning City model to other regions across the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, as an inspiring and successful example of lifelong learning and local capacity building. The visit concluded with an official meeting at the Penjwen District Governorate, reaffirming the shared commitment to enhance cooperation and sustain educational and developmental progress in the region.
