Penjwen Is Going Greener: Preparations Underway to Plant 30,000 Saplings
As part of national and environmental efforts to protect nature and enhance the region’s appearance, a major autumn tree-planting campaign has been launched under the umbrella of the Penjwen Learning City Programme, in coordination with government institutions and relevant organizations.
Strategic Meeting to Develop an Implementation Roadmap
A special, expanded meeting was held under the chairmanship of the respected District Commissioner of Penjwen, with the participation of the Director of Germak Subdistrict, representatives of relevant government departments, the Sapling Group, the Malakawa Organization, and representatives of the Sarchinar Nursery. The meeting focused on developing a roadmap for implementing this major project.
A total of 30,000 saplings are scheduled to be delivered to the district in several phases over the coming days and planted in key public areas, including:
- Penjwen Centre and the subdistricts of Nalparez and Germak: To expand green spaces throughout the district.
- Along major and public roads: To improve the appearance and visual appeal of roads and streets.
- Pastures and forests: To increase vegetation cover and expand green areas.
- Distribution of saplings to local residents: To encourage every resident to contribute to greening their home surroundings and neighbourhood.
